Match Preview

As the season reaches its final stages, 11th-placed Bournemouth welcome second-placed Manchester United to Dean Court. Both teams will hope to ricochet back from defeats in the last round.
Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth have secured only one victory in eight games, but one win and two draws from their last four may have provided the team with the necessary points to survive yet another campaign in the Premier League (PL). They are now targeting back-to-back top half finishes. Last time out there was no disgrace in the 3-0 defeat they suffered away to Liverpool – a graveyard for many a club this season.
Though humiliated by a 1-0 home defeat against a West Brom side that is destined for relegation, United still control their own destiny in regards to securing second place in front of Liverpool, but with the latter’s recent form in mind it could yet be a close race.
United’s loss last round awarded the PL title to arch rivals Manchester City, and manager Mourinho ripped into his players after the defeat, stating, “I think we were deservedly punished because we were masters in complication”.
United could easily capitalise on the fact that Bournemouth have managed to come back to claim points just twice after trailing at half time this season. United themselves have not forfeited a single point when leading at half time.
Players to watch: Joshua King (BOU) won’t score as many as he did last season (16), but with two goals from his last three games, he could still hit double figures.
Romelu Lukaku (MUN) left the pitch goalless for the second consecutive time against West Brom, but seven goals from his last nine matches for club and country is still an impressive return.
Stat attack: The teams have played each other five times since Bournemouth’s promotion. Not once have the sides produced a goalless draw.
United are in good away form – 22 points from the last ten matches is second best record in the country at the moment.
The ‘Red Devils’ beat Bournemouth 1-0 in the reverse fixture and won 3-1 here in last season’s corresponding fixture.
