Match Preview

With the relegation cut decided, both Celta Vigo and Levante are safe on 46pts and are separated by just two places going into this final game of the La Liga (LL) season.
After a good start to the season, Celta Vigo find themselves in no-man’s land in 13th position. A 6-0 thumping at the hands of Real Madrid in their last game followed a 1-1 draw with Deportivo, leaving them with just three points from five games. Their position owes much to their home form, as just one win from their last ten LL games overall, clouds a ten-game unbeaten home record.
Much of Celta’s success is down to the form of Iago Aspas and Maximiliano Gómez – who have scored 35 goals between them this season and assisted eight – that’s direct involvement in over 78% of the team’s 55 goals this season.
Levante have had a season of two halves and are currently the league’s form team. With only one loss in their last five away games, Levante’s 3-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in April is also their only loss in ten fixtures overall (W8, D1, L1).
Levante coach Paco Lopez has turned around their season after his March appointment saw Levante take 25pts – four more than their previous 27 games. Can Lopez get another win against an outgoing Juan Carlos Unzué (CEL) and give Levante their second LL win here in six years (W1, D1, L7)?
Players to watch: Now back from injury, twenty-goal Aspas has scored two goals with four assists from seven career games against Levante (W4, D2, L1).
Enis Bardhi has shown good recent form with five goals in four games. In his debut season, the Hungarian midfielder has nine goals from 25 games.
Stat attack: Celta Vigo have lost from winning positions in 13 games this season.
Sixty percent of the last ten head-to-head meetings have seen the winning team win by 1-0.
In each of their five previous head-to-head meetings, Levante have picked up 30+ booking points.
