Coming into this off the back of three-consecutive wins (in all competitions), Eintracht Frankfurt now welcome Fortuna Düsseldorf to the Commerzbank-Arena, sporting a good chance to keep that run going – their only Bundesliga home defeat against the visitors came back in 1980.
It took until matchday six for Frankfurt to get their first home league win of the new campaign (4-1 to Hannover 96), which was followed by an impressive 4-1 showing in front of their own fans against Lazio in the Europa League.
Fans will expect entertainment – the hosts have scored in every Bundesliga game this season (W3, D1, L3), with six of those seven fixtures featuring both teams scoring.
Düsseldorf on the other hand have been more likely to concede than score this season, letting in at least two goals in five of their seven Bundesliga fixtures so far (W1, D2, L4). At the other end they’ve struggled, netting just once in their last four top-flight games (D1, L3).
On the road, Düsseldorf haven’t threatened much. They are winless in three (D2, L1), scoring just a single goal. A lack of concentration near the end of the game appears to be a problem, as the visitors have conceded three of their four away goals between the 60th and 90th minutes.
Players to watch: With three goals and three assists, Sébastien Haller has been directly involved in half of Frankfurt’s 12 Bundesliga goals this season. Meanwhile Düsseldorf’s experienced keeper Michael Rensing has conceded seven in the last three games.
Stat attack: Frankfurt have been leading at half-time in three of their last four league games.
Düsseldorf, however, have been drawing at the break in three of their last four.
Both teams have scored in three of the last four H2H encounters, while exactly two yellow cards have been shown in the first-half in three of those games.
