Match Preview

Conceding four goals in each of their last two league matches here, and losing both after trailing at half-time, the hosts are in dire straits as it stands. Going without a point since getting one on New Year’s Day, QPR’s league return of D1, L5 since the start of 2019 makes them the worst form side in the entire 72-team EFL so far this calendar year.
In fact, QPR’s porous defence is an issue at all venues, with Steve McClaren’s men conceding two or more goals in each of their last four league matches. There is also the rotten memory of their 7-1 drubbing at West Brom’s hands in the reverse fixture to look back on as a tale of caution.
Quite the opposite of QPR’s leaky defence, the West Brom backline has been solid on the road. Impressively, the ‘Baggies’ have not shipped a goal in 392 minutes of away football in all competitions.
Fierce in the final third across all venues, WBA have scored in each of their last 16 league matches, including their last eight away from home. In addition, six of their last eight Championship away matches have seen them win after being ahead at half-time.
Players to watch: QPR’s Matt Smith has scored three goals across his last two league matches, with two coming in the second half.
WBA top-scorer Jay Rodriguez could score in three consecutive matches for the first time since March 2014, after finding the net twice in four days.
Stat attack: Steve McClaren is unbeaten in seven of his ten managerial H2Hs with WBA (W6, D1, L3).
QPR have been drawing at half-time in a league-low of just three home matches: W6, D3, L6.
West Brom have scored twice or more in nine of their 16 away league matches (56.25%) to date.
