Juventus – Genoa betting tips for today, January 22, 2018.
Football: Italy – Serie A
Tip: Under 3.5 Goals
Match Result: 1:0 WON!!!
Juventus could be judging their return to form perfectly and will continue their pursuit of Serie A (SA) leaders Napoli when they host a Genoa side.
After an indifferent start, Juventus have stormed back into contention and are in a direct fight with Napoli, who are one point ahead. The depth in their squad should help the Champions stave off the injury crisis that currently engulfs them.
Genoa sit just six points above the bottom three, but have found their rhythm in recent matches. The visitors have lost just once in their last eight SA games (W4, D3, L1) and even started the new year with a 1-0 win over Sassuolo.
The hosts have been immaculate at both ends of the pitch (49 goals scored, 15 conceded) this campaign. They have kept 11 clean sheets in SA – more than any other side – and have conceded only one goal in their last 11 games in all competitions.
Their visitors have scored only 16 goals so far – the second-fewest – while drawing blanks in seven of their ten trips in SA. However, they have conceded more than one goal only once in these games (10%).
Genoa haven’t conceded in four SA games on the trot. Another clean sheet will make it the first time they have done so since 1964!
Key battles: In the absence of Paulo Dybala, Douglas Costa remains the top bet for Juventus. Can he fill the void?
His task will be tough against Genoa’s rock Ervin Zukanovic, who has made the most interceptions and clearances for them so far.
Stat attack: The last time Genoa won at Juventus in SA was way back in 1991, a run of 14 games without victory (L11, D3).
Bayern Munich – Werder Bremen betting tips for today, January 21, 2018.
Football: Germany – Bundesliga
Tip: Over 2.5 Goals
Match Result: 4:2 WON!!!
In the first Sunday kick-off, there is a real David vs Goliath feel to this game: Bayern Munich, the champions, receive a dogged but flailing 16th-placed Bremen.
Bayern Munich are clear favourites here and no other team in the Bundesliga (BUN) have won five in a row – they lie first with a comfortable 13 point advantage; no team in BUN history has ever lost such a big lead.
Flashback to the first meeting: On the second match day, the guys from Bremen fought bravely against the Bavarians and were able to hold them at 0-0 until the 72nd minute when a three-minute brace from Robert Lewandowski gave Bayern a 2-0 win.
The change of coaches at Bremen has worked so far for Florian Kohlfeld. The team have a balanced run of form (W3, D2, L3) and collected eleven points (11) under his guidance, twice as many as predecessor Nouri (five points from ten games).
Players to watch: Polish striker Robert Lewandowski has scored twelve goals against Bremen in all competitions. He is already on 15 goals – more goals than the entire Bremen team.
With four goals and three assists, Max Kruse has been directly involved in 50% of Werder Bremen’s goals.
Stat attack: Bayern Munich have won all of the last 13 games against Bremen and have a clean sheet in eight of the last nine duels against the Hanseatic team.
Munich have scored in each of the last 15 Bundesliga matches and in each of the previous home games this season at least one goal.
Bayern are experts in scoring the opening goal in their matches – in almost 90% of their games they score first. This would probably be enough, as two thirds of Bremen’s games have had under 2.5 goals in total.
Brighton – Chelsea betting tips for today, January 20, 2018.
Football: England – Premier League
Tip: Over 1.5 Goals
Match Result: 0:4 WON!!!
Brighton and Chelsea kick off round 24 of the Premier League (PL). The Blues’ visit will mark the Seagull’s 150th league game at the Amex Stadium but the first ever meeting of the sides here! When the sides met earlier in the season, Chelsea won comfortably 2-0 at home.
Boring, boring Chelsea? The Blues have drawn their last five matches (beat Norwich after penalties in the FA Cup) in all competitions including three 0-0 games.
After four games without a win, and one win in their last 12, the dreaded relegation zone is sneaking up on the Seagulls (only three points clear of Stoke in 18th). A positive result against the reigning champions will be vital in terms of both points and momentum.
Brighton defender Lewis Dunk is optimistic ahead of the match, and stressed that they have performed well so far against the ‘big’ sides: “It goes without saying though that if we can get something out of the game it would be a massive boost for the whole team”.
Players to watch: The last time Alvaro Morata scored, Brighton left the Bridge with zero points. Since then, five goalless matches have gone by for the Spanish international. Can he net against Brighton yet again and end his dry spell?
Scoring in two of his last three appearances, Brighton top scorer Glenn Murray may be the man the Seagulls will look to for more goals.
Stat attack: Nice guys? Chelsea have picked up a PL low 27 yellow cards so far (but three reds!).
Behind Stoke, Brighton ranks as the second best behaved team with their meager collection of 31 yellow cards and no sending-offs.
Fifteen of Brighton’s 23 league points have come in front of their home fans.
Only West Brom (three), have played more 0-0 matches than these teams (two each).
