• After an unbeaten seven-game Serie A (SA) run to start 2021 (W6, D1), Lazio have lost three of their last four league games (W1, L3) casting doubts over their European qualification ambitions. Although two of those three losses came against top-three sides, Lazio conceded during both halves in all three – a common factor in each of their eight SA defeats this campaign!
• It’s a different story at home though, as Lazio have won their last six SA home games, four of which were ‘to nil’ – including the previous two. Although Lazio haven’t won three consecutive SA home games without conceding since October 2015, they could do so here as they face a side they haven’t conceded against in two historic SA home H2Hs (W2).
• Bottom-dwellers Crotone ended a run of seven straight losses last time out as they beat Torino 4-2, but have won consecutive SA games only four times before in their top-flight history. Scoring first could increase their chances of achieving that feat, as their record when netting the opener this SA campaign is positive (W4, D1, L2).
• However, the reality remains that Crotone are the only side yet to win a SA away game this term (D2, L11), and have suffered seven straight losses on the road. Five of those seven defeats saw them concede 3+ goals and lose by a 2+ goal margin. Indeed, Crotone have conceded 4+ goals in six of their 13 SA away games, at least three more than any other side!
• Players to watch: Lazio’s Ciro Immobile scored the opener in the reverse fixture, but his last four SA goals have come at home. Meanwhile, Simy netted Crotone’s 100th SA goal with his latest strike, and has been their only scorer in each of his four SA away scoring games.
• Hot stat: Crotone are the only SA side yet to pick up a point after conceding first (L17).
