Still unbeaten at home in Serie A (SA) this term, and aiming for 100 points, Juventus enter this Derby della Mole having won over a third (13) of their league games to-nil so far. That proud record also extends to H2H encounters with Torino, with five of the last seven SA derby meetings seeing the ‘Old Lady’ win after shutting out Torino in the first half.
Juventus have also scored in every home league game this season, but more recently, they have been less efficient at the back. In fact, four of their last five SA games have seen both teams score, solely accounting for nearly a quarter of Juventus’ SA games this season that have seen both teams find the net.
Aiming to get back into Europe for the first time since 2014/15, Torino are currently the division’s third-best defensive side (with just 29 SA goals conceded), and make the short journey across Turin unbeaten in six SA matches (W3, D3).
However, Torino have a huge history of failure in ‘Bianconeri’ territory, having last experienced a top-flight league victory on Juventus’ home turf back in April 1995. Since re-entering the top-flight in 2012, ‘Il Toro’ have lost after failing to score in the first half in four of six away league derbies.
Players to watch: Cristiano Ronaldo (JUV) is still fighting to be SA’s top-gun, and his last two league goals have been the final goal of the day, with both arriving between the 61st-75th minute.
Meanwhile, Andrea Belotti has scored nearly 30% of Torino’s goals (13 of 44) with a majority (seven) of those coming on the road.
Stat attack: Half of Juventus’ 28 SA wins this term have been by a one-goal margin.
Five of Torino’s six losses have been by a one-goal margin.
So too have three of their last four H2H away defeats in SA.
