TSG Hoffenheim welcome Hannover 96 to start the 32nd round of the Bundesliga. While the hosts are currently on the longest unbeaten streak in the league, their guests have slipped down near to the relegation zone.
Hoffenheim are currently on a run of eight games without a loss (W5, D3). Last weekend they leapfrogged RB Leipzig after demolishing them 5-2 away to take fifth place, just two points off a Champions League place.
Hannover have lost seven of their 14 games this calendar year (W3, D4), including a terrible run of five defeats in a row in February/March. After losing 3-0 at home to newly crowned champions Bayern Munich last week they sit in 13th place, just six points ahead of the relegation zone.
Under coach Julian Nagelsmann, Hoffenheim have lost both previous Bundesliga games against Hannover (2-0, 1-0, both away at the HDI-Arena). However, ‘Die Roten’ (HAN) have never won at Hoffenheim in eight attempts in the Bundesliga (D2, L6).
Hoffenheim have won their last three home games without conceding a goal – a new club record. They have not conceded at home in 294 minutes. By contrast, Hannover are winless on the road in the last eleven games in all competitions (D4, L7).
Players to watch: With 14 goals and seven assists, Hoffenheim’s Mark Uth is the second highest scorer in the Bundesliga. He has scored four goals in his last three games.
Niclas Füllkrug is Hannover’s top scorer with 12 goals and three assists this season. He scored the opening goal in the reverse fixture, which resulted in a win for his team.
Stat attack: Hoffenheim are the most efficient team in the league. They have an average of just 4.97 shots on target for every goal.
Hannover have scored 77% of their 13 away goals in the second half. On the other hand, Hoffenheim have conceded 79% of their 14 home goals in this period.
